Jim Burton is a retired military weapon systems officer/instructor, who served 20 years flying
fighter jets in the US Air Force. He retired to north Idaho in 2006 and took his first dance lesson with his 10-year-old daughter in 2012.
Although Jim definitely enjoys various styles of smooth ballroom and Latin, he didn’t find his real dance passion until he learned the styles that fit with the swing rhythms of boogie woogie, 50s, rockabilly, blues, early jazz, and big band music that he’s always loved. Since 2015,
Jim has focused on the vintage swing dances… Lindy Hop, Balboa, Charleston, and Collegiate Shag. And
now he’s excited to teach them to you!
