Service Description
Balboa is a form of swing dance that originated in Southern California in the 1920s. Although danced to a variety of tempos, the basic step is small and in place, making Balboa a popular swing dance for crowded dance floors and faster tempos. It is danced primarily in close embrace, led with a slightly turned, chest to chest connection. In Pure-Bal dancers remain in close embrace, while Bal-Swing is a mix of close embrace, underarm turns, and other open position moves. In this class, we will learn Bal-Swing. Saturdays in May May 6th-27th 10am-11am $50 for the 4-Week Series
